Williamsburg Bridge at night, New York City, USA

New York, New York!

After a sleepless night, tossing and turning in nervous excitement, the eagerly anticipated hour of departure finally arrived and suddenly I was 37,000ft above the Atlantic, hurtling through the sky at an incredible speed, arriving at my first destination 8 sleepy hours later…

Oh yes, I’ve stopped off en route to Costa Rica in the city that never sleeps, that concrete jungle where dreams are made of, the Big Apple, New York, New York, baby! I can now fully appreciate  why they named it twice…this city is awesome!

The past three days have been a wonderful whirlwind of skyscrapers, yellow taxi cabs, exclusive soho art galleries, delicious delis, fancy cocktails, gigantic flashing advertisements,  trendy Brooklyn warehouse parties, funky vintage clothing shops and incredibly indulgent brunches!

Several $1 New York pizza slices later and I am now re-packing my surprisingly light backpack (I think I did rather well!) to head down south from the U.S.A to San Jose, Costa Rica. I’ll be arriving tomorrow afternoon, meeting my host family and getting a feel for the city before starting Spanish classes on Monday morning…Costa Rica, are you ready?? Here I come!!
