Thai Adventure Part 4: Partying on Koh Phangan!

by Jane McLellan

IMG_2156When my time checking out the Thai Adventure programme on Koh Tao was over, next on my list of paradise islands to visit was the absolutely stunning Koh Phangan.  The final week of the Thai Adventure programme is spent on this beautiful island, famous for its monthly Black Moon and Full Moon parties.  Our guide arranges boat tickets (included in the programme fee) on your behalf so you can travel between Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. The big catamaran zooms across the sea from island to island and only takes around 90 minutes.

Our accommodation is set on an idyllic beach which is only around a 20 minute taxi ride from the main boat pier.  The accommodation is ideally placed and is only a 15 minute stroll along the sandy beach towards Haad Rin, which hosts the famous Full Moon Party. The accommodation is in a great location, close to the beach, shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars. It shares a beach with a few other guest houses, most of which have bars and restaurants, so you have a good choice of places to visit for meals and nights out if you don’t want to wander as far as the main town. The little restaurant next door lays out floor cushions, low tables and lanterns every evening and is the perfect place to enjoy some cold beers at sunset. They also have wi-fi so it is a handy place to check your emails and hook up to the internet.

Infinity PoolThe Koh Phangan accommodation is in lovely small villas which are twin-share. All of them have air-conditioning and an en-suite bathroom, plus a safe to secure your belongings, and all villas are only a few meters from the beach and the pool. Talking of the pool: Wow! It is a stunning infinity pool which looks out onto the beach and towards the sea. There are sun loungers around the pool making it ideal place to hang out and soak up the rays before taking a dip to cool down.

ThailandThis final week of the Thai Adventure on Koh Phangan is all about relaxing. The island is a gorgeous destination and if you fancy exploring, there are plenty of snorkelling and boat excursions to choose from. And of course don’t miss out on the legendary Full Moon and Black Moon parties! Most of our Thai Adventure programme start dates run so they coincide with one of these crazy parties so our customers can experience the world famous ultimate island party. There’s no better way to round off your Thai Adventure and stock up on snapshots and memories of your four weeks exploring all that Thailand has to offer.
