How to Travel Australia on a Budget

by admin

You might think going to Australia will cost you a fortune. But it won’t! It’s super easy to travel Australia without breaking the bank. Take a look at our top Aussie budget tips!

Get flexible

A flexible travel pass is the ideal way to travel if you’re on a budget. You pay once for a travel pass that is valid for six months and then you’re free to hop-on and hop-off as you please. You can do it all in two weeks, or take your time and spend half a year exploring. Running a bit low on cash? Head on to the next location. Feeling flush? Stay put and get involved in extra activities!

Free stuff!

Lucky for you Australia has loads of great things you can do for free! Beaches are the obvious answer. Australia has thousands of miles worth of beautiful coastline – and lazing on the beach doesn’t cost a penny! You can also enjoy walking through city parks, and following spectacular coastal trails.

Eating

Eating out will also rack up the expenses. Instead of eating in restaurants why not grab some bargains at a supermarket and have a picnic on the beach? Australia is also the home of the BBQ and many places have free public barbeques you can throw some food on! Tasty, stunning, and cheap!

Drinking

Alcohol will almost certainly be major expense while travelling Australia. Drinks aren’t too cheap, and if you’re having heavy nights regularly you’ll soon find your wallet is getting light – especially if you’re the kind of person who shouts “drinks on me” after one too many. Pace yourself during nights out and think carefully whether you really need that extra drink. Also don’t confuse thirst with a need for alcohol! Australia is very hot and humid and you’ll soon get dehydrated. Drink water not beer!

Get a job!

Running out of money? Just earn more!

If you’re aged between 18 and 30 you can take advantage of Australia’s awesome Working Holiday Visa and work for up to a year in the country. This is a great way to fund your travels as you go, and also get a real taste of living Down Under. If you’re on a budget, think about working in Oz!
