Bali Intro - My Top 5 Highlights

By Gap 360

I’ve just got back from the awesome 12-day Bali Intro. I had a fantastic time – so much was packed into the 12 days and I experienced some amazing things. Here are my top 5 highlights from my time in Bali.

Snorkeling around Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan’s shore is home to patches of coral, fish and of course, sea turtles. We went out on a glass bottomed boat and spent the day snorkelling. There were three different spots around Gili T and Gili Air, and it was amazing to see sea turtles in their natural habitat.

The Drive to Lovina

So much on this day was awesome, I can’t pick a favourite! Driving from Canngu to Lovina we stopped off at two temples, both in stunning locations, and learned about the local traditions. We saw fields of rice paddies and tried the rice they grew there. We also paddled at the base of a beautiful waterfall.

Dolphins in Lovina

This was my favourite day! We spent the morning out on a local boat just off the shore of Bali and saw several species of dolphin. We were even able to go out on the side floats and be inches away from the water! Dolphins, still water and a clear blue sky – what more could you want!

Lovina – Local Family

The culture in Bali was incredible. A real high point was meeting a local Balinese family in their home. We spent time with the family and saw what they grew in their plantations, learned a bit about the food they had, and tried our hand at basket weaving. They also served some of the best food I’ve had in my life!

Ubud – Volcano Trek

The best view of the entire trip! It was an early start, and not an easy walk, but it was totally worth it. We reached the top before sunrise and watched the sun come up over two of the largest volcanoes on the island. Definitely something to add to your bucket list!

I can’t recommend the Bali Intro enough. Bali itself is stunning and the tour is packed with incredible experiences. I want to go back now!
